I received the call Angela’s water broke around 9 am, a week before her due date. Angela planned to deliver med free, so she labored at home for a while. She had decided she did not want to know her progression, so the next call I received was around noon from her husband that she had just been checked in and was already dilated to a 5. Thinking this was active labor, I headed to Saint Thomas Midtown!

When I arrived she was laboring with her doula, Merrill. This was the first time I had worked with a doula on a delivery, and now I am totally convinced I will have to have a doula for my next child!
Merrill was so kind and informative, and you can see through these images she truly loves what she does. At the bottom of the post, I will link her FB page! 🙂

After hours of laboring, Angela’s contractions were getting stronger but she wasn’t progressing much. She decided to get the epidural so she could let her body rest and for delivery.

And then Aubrey was ready to make her debut!
